The Iftaar and Tarawih event held on 18th July 2013, 9th Ramadhan, was one of the two Iftaar and Tarawih events that the school had planned for this fasting month.  The one held from 6.30 p.m. yesterday was especially for the teachers, staff and hostelites of SMKTAR.  Also invited to the event were representatives from the Tampin District Education Office.

It was supposed to be a trip to attend one of SMKTAR's teacher's wedding in Bachok, Kelantan.  But there was a slight lack of response from the teachers.  Not really surprising though since it is the holidays, and most of the teachers had already made earlier plans with their own families.

The English Panel of SMKTAR conducted an English Camp today (23rd March 2013)  The programme was targeted at the KRK (Kelas Rancangan Khas) students from forms 1 and 2.  The camp started at 8.00 a.m. and ended at about 12.30 p.m.

Well, the long wait for the STPM 2012 results will be over because the results will be announced next Monday, 18th March 2013.    I am sure the anticipation is high, both among ex-students and teachers alike.  Students are excited to see how well they have done and then they will be able to set their eyes and ambitions on entering universities and institutions of higher learning of their choice.

Today, Tuesday 19th February 2013, sees the first day of a four-day MUET Speaking Examination for the Upper 6's of 2013.  The thirty six candidates sitting for their examinations today comprise of two private candidates and thirty four school candidates from this school.  Another thirty private candidates will be sitting for their exams on the last day.

Saturday the 9th of February 2013, saw the start of a long school holiday mainly in conjunction with the Lunar New Year which incidentally falls on Monday and Tuesday.  Wednesday has been declared a special holiday, while Thursday and Friday are replacement holidays (Thursday's school day has already been replaced on 19/1/13)

Today is the last day of the STPM Semester 1 exams, and the feeling of euphoria is in the air.  Students are actually looking forward to the long holidays, just as the teachers are!  The feeling is almost tangible as you see smiling faces and less agitated students heading out of the exam hall.

After the unpleasant experience a few years ago, of students not turning up for Raya after they repeatedly said that they would be coming, I have always held on to a close-house principle when it came to students.  It was a terrible experience when the missus and I really went all out to prepare seven chickens worth of Chicken Rice plus Cendol dessert; all done ala stalls.  When the day turned into night, and the students didn't even call to apologize, I decided they wouldn't be coming at all.  That was also the time when I decided, no more open houses for students.
