The Exodus Continues

Star Q

On 28th May 2012, a group of Pre-U teachers and their students gathered at the old building of the STAR primary school.  It was all hands on the pump, when present did every thing they could to get the furniture placed in their respective rooms, including the classes and the teachers' room.

We were fortunate because our very own Form 6 Senior Assistant drove the lorry, and a huge group of students helped to ferry the furniture from the secondary school to the primary school.  Another group of students, including a majority of the teachers, arranged the furniture in their respective rooms.  I was in charge of the food to be served during break (I volunteered for this duty!)

Talking about food, I was instructed to order enough for 150 volunteers (teachers and students).  When the time came to distribute the food packets,  I found that there were more than 50 left.  This goes to show that, sadly, quite a few students (and teachers alike) did not turn up to help with the moving-in.  However, the spare food did not go to waste, since some of the boys took extra since they had worked up an appetite!

Based on the attendance (or lack of it) or the camaraderie (or lack of it!), I sincerely hope that that was not a sign of things to come!
